Thought for the day ...

"While we are flying the best aircraft in the world, ferrying more than 50 million passengers every year between the Indian cities, there are still many villages which lack access to all weather roads. While the international cities like Mumbai boast of the richest individuals on the planet, the villages of the same state saw more than 41,000 distressed farmers choosing t...o end their life suicides due to indebtness and bankruptcy in the past 12 years (1998-2008) . And as we are now a trillion dollar plus economy, 550 million youth, it is our national challenge to deal with the fact that we have more people in poverty, more children to bring quality nourishment to, more people to get access to clean drinking water and more people who need to brought under literacy than any other nation. These are our fundamental challenges of the 21st century.

How ready we are for these? Can you reflect?"

- From the book Target 3 Billion (Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and Srijan Pal Singh)
